What is Line Dancing?
Line dancing is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or rows without regard for the gender of the dancers, all facing the same direction, and executing the steps at the same time. The best part is you don’t need a partner! It’s a fun and social way to get your body moving and learn new choreography.
Before Class: What Do I Need to Know
- You don’t need to sign up in advance. Just show up and be ready to dance!
- Attire: Wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move in. We recommend closed-toe shoes with a smooth sole that allows for pivots and glides, like sneakers or dance shoes.
During Class: What to Expect
- Itinerary: The instructor will lead the class through a variety of line dances, breaking down each one into simple steps. You will learn the counts and movements for each dance and practice them with the rest of the class.
- Classes are for All Levels. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced dancer, you’ll feel comfortable and challenged.
- Benefits: It’s a great cardio workout, helps with memory and coordination, and is a fantastic way to meet new people.
After Class: Now What
- Expect to feel energized and accomplished.
- The dances you learn can be used anywhere, from country music bars to parties and events.
